Louise Gillespie LLB
Louise practised in the Sydney CBD in general and commercial law. In 1987 Louise decided to specialise in legal costs and has practised extensively in that area since that time. Louise has prepared documents for cost assessments and taxations, provided advice to clients, delivered lectures on legal costs and provided expert evidence in relation to costs issues in all New South Wales and Federal jurisdictions. In 2005 Louise and Mary decided to bring their respective skills into partnership to deliver a highly experienced and personal service to their clients. Louise has co-authored the costs chapter in the CCH Australian Master Family Law Guide 7th Edition.

Mary Whelan BA LLB
Mary was initially employed as a litigation solicitor in a Sydney CBD law practice and in 1982 formed the law practice Turner Whelan in which she was the litigation partner. During this time Mary developed an interest in legal costs and from 1992 took the step of specialising in legal costs both as a cost consultant and as the in-house cost lawyer for two prominent Sydney law practices. Mary was a founding member of Supreme Court Legal Costs Users Sub-Committee which consisted of various stakeholders in the cost assessment system. Mary represented the solicitors of NSW. Over the years Mary has prepared a substantial number of expert reports and has been judicially recognised as an expert in legal costs. Mary has co-authored the costs chapter in the CCH Australian Master Family Law Guide 7th Edition.

Louise graduated with a Bachelor of Law from the University of Sydney in 1981 and was admitted to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court.
Mary graduated with an Arts/Law degree from the University of NSW in 1977 and in 1978 was admitted to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court.
